A New Journey into the Abstract

In 2016, Sturges began exploring a more fully abstract approach to her work, developing a new style that resonates with fluidity and passion.  Her new canvases are colorfully brilliant and visually memorable, eliciting an emotional response that is simultaneously joyful, invigorating and calming. “It is the most genuine form of self-expression and it comes from the soul,” says Tina of her new works that reflect a vibrant intensity and suppleness.   “It mirrors my excitement and emerging desire to physically engage with the medium.”  Her new direction is very textural, featuring a great deal of movement, energy and color.
